To end our week talking about Immigration and the Video 30 days I would like you to submit in English a journal entry written from the point of view of one of the characters from 30 days. Armida, the teenage daughter, Paty the mother, Rigoberto the father, Frank the Minuteman. Tell us something that is on your character's mind. The Dream Act, buying Christmas presents, graduating, working as a day laborer, etc.
Valerie as Armida: I'm trying to get into college but it is very hard because I don't have the money. But to think about it I'm very.

ReplyDeleteToday i couldn't sleep. I sat up all night thinking about the situation with them passing the dream act. I kept thinking to myself that maybe now they would let me stay in america because i was starting college.

ReplyDeleteDay 1:
This is the first day without mi madre and I feel Muy Mal. I had to leave her and take my family, not because we weren't getting along but because I wanted a Better Life for my Kids. Living in American they can get a better education and live a better Life that's not in poverty.I only wish for my kids to have better than I had. even though i miss mi madre dearly. I know if I return to my home to see her I will not be able to return to my family :/ this situation is very upseting but i know its for the better. well at least I Hope so ...
Priscilla- Armida thoughts .. Today is a good day I got in to the college of my dreams I'm am so excited. Im goin to be the first person out of my family to go to college. But I hope i could get my paper in eventually and I could pay for college and save up. When I graduate from college I'm going to help My family and supprot them the best I can.

ReplyDeleteI woke up this morning to a bright beautifully sunny day. It was a perfect day for fishing or golfing but alas I have to make the long and tiring trip to the border. I hoisted my rifle onto my shoulder, cimbed into the back of the pick up truck and told the driver to go. And my day as a minute man begins once again. Patrolling the border all day and night to stop illegal aliens from entering the United States. I take great pride in this job even though it takes a lot out of me and prevents me from spending time with my children, who I love dearly.
